The race’s history dates back to 1946. 2016′s race was held for the second time over Memorial Day weekend. A resurgence of this race a few years ago has made this one of the most popular distance races in the region. This 100 mile coastal race has everything from a J-24 to 40′+ footers on the course. We added multi-hulls in ’16 with a Sarasota start. Of course, the destination is fabulous finishing at Ft Myers Beach – one of the remaining “old Florida” beach towns. ALL competitors compete for the Navigator’s Trophy donated by OH Rogers. It is awarded to the first boat to finish in any class from the Tampa Bay start. This event is part of our DIYC Boat of the Year Series.
