DIYC Member Area - 2009 One Design Crew Training

This is a course designed to transition sailors from rail meat to contributing members of the crew. It is not a learn to sail course. Through both class room and actual hands on experience, you will learn to hank on, hoist, and trim the J-24 jib, genoa, main, and spinnaker on all points of sail. You will become a help, not a hindrance to your skipper no matter what kind of boat he sails. The course will be held at the and is open to the general public with preference going to sailors involved in the DIYC Thursday night series. The prerequisites are some experience sailing , normal agility, and no aversion to getting black and blue marks. The cost is $125 contribution to Davis Island Yacht Club launch replacement fund and slots are limited to 30 students.
