The class takes beginners through basic race committee concepts such as types of boats and racing, the purpose and duties of the race committee, equipment, and jobs of the race committee, and what to expect out on the water. We will provide an overview of race committee functions for those who are interested in learning more. If you are a race committee newbie, race committee chair, race management instructor, yacht club leader, or just someone who is interested, you’re invited to attend this presentation.

New and old sailors alike gather on our beautiful Hillsborough Bay for a tradition unlike any other. Davis Islands' Thursday Night Series has been the biggest sailing series in the South. New sailors have learned the skills of the persons who were in their shoes years ago. Racing sailboats keeps us happy.
Interested in coming out to sail? Check the Thursday Night Racing page for more information. We race in mildly inclimate weather. We will not race in dangerous conditions. The Race Committee will make the decision to sail, or not to sail, no earlier than 6PM.
Skippers, please sign yourself and your crew up for RC duties here. Each skipper is expected to take one turn on RC.
