office@diyc.orgStarted in 1936 by the Tampa Sailing Squadron as a Labor Day cruise to Sarasota, in 1948 it became the Tampa to Sarasota Labor Day Race. In the early 1950’s, DIYC took over sponsorship of the race and it has been running annually since that time. The Friday evening of Labor Day weekend, the night race begins just south of the Club and we promise to finish at a decent hour so you can enjoy your long weekend with your family and friends. This race kicks off our DIYC Boat-of-the-Year Series.
